In Milwaukie resides a group dedicated to bringing good times to town. You may have been to a few – car shows, dances, park concerts. It’s all the handiwork of Celebrate Milwaukie inc. They are also the folks responsible for The Milwaukie Farmer’s Market (this year in its 14th season) and Milwaukie Daze, our yearly city celebration that includes carnival rides, a parade, and fireworks along the river.
Along with their dedication to fun CMI also regularly contributes to the Oregon Food Bank, provides grants for neighborhood concerts, donates to the Milwaukie Pioneer Cemetery, and consistently helps with Milwaukie park clean-ups.
Current members are representative of all the neighborhoods except for GM and ex-mayor Jim Bernard; Ed Zumwalt from Historic Milwaukie Neighborhood, David Aschenbrenner from Hector Campbell Neighborhood, Jeff Klein and Art Ball from Lewelling, Mike Miller from Lake Road, and Lisa Beatty from Island Station.
